L.D. Smith is a retired attorney who traded city life in Salt Lake City, Utah for the rugged beauty of Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2022. What began as a new chapter quickly became a source of inspiration.
At first, the desert felt unfamiliar—but it didn’t take long to discover that Arizona is far more than sand and heat. From towering mountains to hidden trails and stories buried in history, the landscape revealed something unexpected: mystery.
That discovery sparked the creation of The Ghostly Legends Society.
Inspired by real legends, ghost towns, and the untold stories of the American West, Smith writes adventures designed for curious readers—especially teens—who crave mystery, exploration, and imagination without the darker themes often found in modern stories.
